Never Alone prose by Ann Harper
Even though we are weak and small Even though we are helpless and afraid Even though we are very few We must help each other We must save each other We must free each other
Even though it's sacrifice Even though we take a risk Even though we may be lost We must help each other We must save each other We must free each other
Even though the beast is large Even though the jungle dark Even though we've fought before We must help each other We must save each other We must free each other
The manticore is a mythical creature, a kind of chimera with the head of a man often with blue eyes, several rows of iron teeth, and a beautiful harmonic voice the body of a (sometimes red-furred) lion, and the tail of a dragon or scorpion. Like its cousin, the Sphinx, it would often challenge its prey with riddles before killing.
